God gives not what we want but what we need. We Need Jesus! He is Lord of the sabbath and the sabbath Himself as our rest. Jesus is also the Bread of Life, our food, as the source of our eternal strength, enjoyment and satisfaction. May we learn to find rest in Jesus and allow Him to make home in our hearts and be magnified in us, that is, it is no longer us who live, but Christ living in us. May we also learn to stop from eating anything that give us temporary strength, enjoyment, and satisfaction, but learn to eat Jesus only as the bread of Life embodied in His word. This is the way to keep the sabbath and to fast. Amen!

The hypocrisy of the house of Jacob and God's instruction to them was described in Isaiah 58. The hypocrisy of the house of Jacob is that they fasted outwardly, but continued to do many things in pursuit of their own interest by not resting in God or take God as their nourishment and Life Supply.( Mat.6:16-18;11:28-30;John 6:35,57-58). If we are to keep the Sabbath, we must be those who enjoy God, having fired and replaced by Him.( John 6:57-58; Gal.2:20). If we do not keep the Sabbath in this way, we would be those who do their own ways, find their own pleasure, and speak idle words which are all hypocrisy in the eyes of God. Hallelujah!

Praise the Lord! After God has redeemed us, saved us, and delivered us from the world, He will change our diet to eliminate our worldly constitution to make our constitution purely of Christ. (Exo.16:3-4,14-36,John 6:32-35,48-51,57,63). Whatever we desire, hunger, and thirst for is the diet according to which our being has been constituted. Whatever satisfies, sustains, and strengthens us is our food. The unique food we take for our sustenance, strength, and satisfaction must be Christ. Num.11:4-6;John 6:57-58,63). The real meaning of fasting is to stop eating all things other than the Lord Jesus and to not have a taste for anything other than Him. Hallelujah! Day by day the hunger of many of us is for Christ and Christ alone. We thirst for Him and desire to contact Him, to read the word, to call on His name, and to read the printed messages. Truly the Lord has changed our diet that fulfills His purpose in us, to build up the church as His dwelling place. Amen!

The principle of keeping the Sabbath is that with God it is a matter of working and then resting, but with man it is a matter of first resting and then working with the Lord by being one with Him. (Gen.2:3; Isa. 56:2; Heb.4:9;1Cor.6:17). As we became one with the Lord, we can do all things in Him who empowers us. (Phil. 4:13). God becomes our strength to work and our energy to labor that issues from our enjoyment of Him as our Sabbath, our rest, & our satisfaction. We must see that all the work in this universe should come from God and that all that matters is what God does for man, not what man does for God. How we need to fast, to stop eating all things other than the Lord Jesus as the bread of life embodied in His word and to not have a taste for anything other than Him.(John 6:48,51,63,68). In the sight of God, nothing is more evil than not eating drinking, and enjoying the Lord. ( Jer.2.13). Let us all learn to enjoy God in everything. Hallelujah!

Praise the Lord ! On the seventh day, the Sabbath, God finished His work which He had done and rested. ( Gen.2:2-3). God rested and was refreshed and satisfied because He had created man in His image to express Him and to represent Him to deal with God's enemy.( Exo.31.17;Gen.1.26;Rom.5:17,21;16:20. God rest includes His being refreshed and satisfied. When we take Him as our Sabbath rest every day we need to be filled, soaked, permeated, united, mingled, and incorporated with Christ by spending personal time to be infused with Hime at the beginning of each day. Hallelujah! when we are infused with God, we glow and shine forth God, and are filled with the life of God, we received the abundance of grace, the abundance of the enjoyment of Christ, and thereby reign in life over Satan, Sin,Death, and even our rotten Self. Amen!
